About Yolanda Hamilton

Dr Yolanda Hamilton is a board certified physician specializing in gastroenterology and internal medicine. She is the owner of HMS Health and Wellness Center and Achieve Beauty and Health PLLC. She specializes in prevention, wellness, and management of acute and chronic diseases. Her practice standard requires active participation of the patient in the care and management of their disease. Her philosophy focuses on providing quality care with compassion. Her goal is to provide patients with excellent care and state of the art treatment within their community.

Dr. Hamilton specializes in, but is not limited to, the treatment of GERD, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), peptic ulcer disease, gastroenteritis and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Her practice scope includes the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the digestive organs including the stomach, bowels, liver and gallbladder. Dr. Hamilton performs a variety of procedures including small bowel enteroscopy, esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) and colonoscopy for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. She is a strong advocate of preventative therapies, which includes colonoscopy, for colon cancer screening and evaluation for Barrettes esophagus.

Prior to starting her own practice, Dr. Hamilton was an assistant professor at MD Anderson Cancer Center until 2006 and an Assistant professor at University of Texas Health Science Center until 2010. She attended medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina. Her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology were completed at the Washington Hospital Center and Howard University Hospital in Washington D.C in 1997. Dr. Hamilton is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Gastroenterology Association, College of Gastroenterology and Texas Medical Association. She continues to refine her expertise through one-on-one mentoring and training offered by continuing medical education courses.
